Montgomery Gymnasium
The building of Montgomery Gymnasium began in 1911 but it wasn’t until 1915 that it was ready for use. It was built because a larger and more modern facility was needed for the increased cadet establishment required at Sandhurst as a result of the Haldane Reforms of 1906-12. It was named the Montgomery Gymnasium after WW2, in honour of Britain’s most famous war time General.
The Montgomery Gymnasium is open to all service personnel and dependents. (Who have completed a gym induction). Its facilities include a main hall with court markings for basketball, 5-a-side football, volleyball, badminton and other sports. It also has sufficient fixed equipment, which include Beaver Fit frames, 30ft ropes and an activity training area for Boxing.

King Hamad Hall (KHH)
King Hamad Hall (previously known as Mons Hall) has undergone a major refurbishment and name change following the generous
£3 million donation from Bahrain’s ruler, Hamad Al Khalifa.
The donation from Hamad Al Khalifa is part of a long standing relationship between the Bahraini Royal Family and Sandhurst. The King Hamad Bin Essa Al Khalifa was trained at RMAS, as are a select group of Bahriaini Military personnel each year. As well as training at RMAS, the king has also been a part of the Sandhurst foundation (The Academy’s Alumni Charity) since 2007.
The KHH is split over three floors, which are all well equipped. The first floor includes free weights and resistance machines, the second floor contains modern CV equipment which include stepping machines, cycles, x – trainers, and wave and running machines. Finally on the third floor is a spinning studio, with the latest WATT bikes. It also provides an area for core and abdominal work.
